Conserve & Cool

Our ‘CoCo’ system for conserving and cooling.

Having langoustines cooled and preserved automatically, reducing labour intensity on board a fishing vessel. Fishing vessels ‘MDV-2’ and ‘UK-124’ faced this challenge, but VCU Robotics found a solution! ‘CoCo’ was born, short for Conserve & Cool.

Langoustines (Norwegian lobsters)

Langoustines (Norwegian lobsters) are preserved and transported to the next unit and cooled there, before being transported further.

Langoustine manual sorting and packaging aboard a fishing vessel is a tremendously labour-intensive process. By automating the preservation and cooling process, the labour intensity on board has been reduced. After sorting, the langoustines are automatically preserved and then transported to the refrigeration unit for cooling. Get in touch to receive our CoCo brochure!
