Slice Packer Gabriel S.C.R.L.

VCU Robotics is developing an automation concept for Gabriel to package sliced fish fillets.

The fillets arrive from the slicer on a conveyor belt and are weighed. A vision system inspects the fillets, after which four Delta robots precisely place the products into trays. The trays are automatically destacked and fed to the packaging line.

Thanks to the weighing and vision technology, each tray can be filled with the correct amount of product. The filled trays are then transported to the packaging machine.

With this solution, VCU Robotics is developing a system for Gabriel that further automates the packaging of sliced fillets. This reduces manual labor, creates a more consistent product flow, and allows the packaging process to be carried out more efficiently.
