PrecisionPack / a pick-and-place system for salmon processing

In PrecisionPack, VCU Robotics is developing a pick-and-place system for the salmon processing industry, in collaboration with Korf Vis and Wageningen Research.

The installation at Korf Vis has been been realized. Due to the high development nature of the innovation, we are now in a testing phase to optimize the machine. Because of the Salmon Gripper, salmon portions are picked up with great precision. Next, a card gripper is used to insert a rider card into the mould. Korf Vis thus has more production capacity, improved quality and less physical strain for employees.

The pick & place machine works optimally with the Borncut portioning machine and Multivac vacuuming machine. This was done with delta robots and by engineering a proprietary gripper.

This machine is designed to meet the strictest hygiene requirements for the food industry.
