In the Robotics & Frozen fillets project, VCU Robotics developed a pick-and-place machine for frozen plaice fillets.
A gripper capable of picking up frozen fillets was developed for Northseafood Holland. The characteristics of the flatfish (different types of fillet, sizes and shapes) made it challenging to handle this product. Using the Vision system, Northseafood collects various data and imagery to enhance traceability. VCU Robotics’ dedicated team successfully completed this project.
