OptiFish is a pioneering Horizon-Europe project for which VCU Robotics is developing a robotics system.
In OptiFish, 19 companies are working together to properly map data on board of fishing vessels.
VCU Robotics’ role in this project is to properly transport the catches to the Vision camera, where it will recognize and measure the species of fish.
OptiFish focuses on developing, testing and validating technologies that improve onboard monitoring of catch volumes and fish health, allowing fishermen to enhance the sustainability of their operations and better meet monitoring requirements.
