VCU Robotics is developing a dual salmon depalletizer for two production lines at Leroy Processing in Spain.
The system consists of two robots that operate simultaneously. They process EPS boxes containing salmon, remove the lids, and convey the contents to the production lines. The empty boxes, including their lids, are then restacked. The strapping bands are also automatically removed.
Vision systems recognize the stacking pattern and flag any crooked pallets. Barcode scanners ensure the identification and traceability of each box. The automated pallet loading and unloading supports a constant product flow.
With this solution, VCU Robotics has developed a hygienic and reliable system for Leroy Processing that can supply both production lines simultaneously. This increases capacity and reduces the need for manual handling.
