Changes in the fishing industry have far-reaching implications. This is why the VOP (Fisheries Development Plan) was created, so that steps can be taken to support the local economy within the fishing clusters. The VOP provides momentum toward a healthy and sustainable fishing industry.
VCU Robotics, in cooperation with several fish processors from Urk, is developing pick-and-place solutions for flatfish processing, that can be widely implemented by the fish processing industry, making the flatfish sector in Urk future-proof.
